The Doctor is In

Doctors are very valued in society and for freshman Alyssa Reyes, it’s what she wants to do for the rest of her life.

She wants to be a doctor and is passionate about her dream. Having a family member in the medical field has inspired this young Johnston County girl.

“I found being a doctor really interesting,” Reyes said. “My uncle is a paramedic and his job seemed pretty cool.”

Reyes has already decided what type doctor she want to be and looks forward to the opportunity to the prospect of working with others.  She is also wanting to stay grounded and do the tasks many doctors see as secondary.

“I want to be a normal doctor,” Reyes said. “Check blood pressure and things like that.”

Reyes is honest about her desire to help others and a desire to have a healthy income.  Where she has not yet decided on what she wants to get with her hard earned dollars, she is ready to spend them.

“It pays a lot so I can buy a lot of things,” Reyes said.

Reyes is looking forward to a life of helping others.  She seeks a life of putting other’s lives before her own.

“It’s nice to think I would be able to save lives,” Reyes said.

There is no end to Reyes’ ambitions in the medical field.

“I could help people and maybe cure diseases,” Reyes said.

Family is important to her and she looks forward to giving back to her family as they grow older.

“I want to be able to take care of my mom when she gets old,” Reyes said.
