The film was written by a then 15 year old girl named Beth Reekles. Reekles published her story on Wattpad. Wattpad is a website where writers can publish their own work.

The Kissing Booth quickly gained fame and brought attention to publishers. Reekles then received a major publishing deal. According to google, the forbidden love story left 97 percent of google users loving the film.

The film stars Joey King, better known for her role as Ramona is the 2010 film Ramona and Beezus. King plays the role of the exuberant Elle Evans. The high school junior has been life long friends with Lee Flynn, played by Joel Courtney. The dreamy Australian actor, Jacob Elordi plays Lee’s brother, Noah Flynn, better known as Flynn. Flynn is the epitome of the beautiful bad boy player whos most prized possession is his motorcycle. The Kissing Booth also features the hit 80s films actress, Molly Ringwald.  

This film contains scenes that are sure to make you cry, along with ones that will make you laugh more than those RIP vine Youtube videos you watch during your lonely nights at home. After watching this film, you will want to snapchat all of your friends to tell them they have got to watch The Kissing Booth. It is a great girls night in kind of movie or something to watch to get on your girlfriends good side. No matter the circumstances, you are sure to love this movie.

This isn’t considered family friendly as it is rated TV-14, which suits it well. The film contains vast amounts of adult humor and actions. Some may consider various scenes a little raunchy. The film also features some foul language and even somewhat violent scenes. It is definitely not all comedy.

The film is a combination of Romeo and Juliet and A Cinderella Story. The Kissing Booth is by far, one of the best Netflix Original movies that fans are sure to love.
